Fitness First- In conversation with Clement Henri.

As y'all might or might not know, I have taken fitness very seriously. Well... more seriously in my head and in my dream where I see myself working out like crazy and attaining that beach body but when I wake up I just find some excuse to still stay in my bed and promise myself to get up early the next morning and lose at least 2 pounds by starving myself to death. Phewwww....

Anyway, I am considering focusing on it......looking at my friends and how fit they are, I feel miserable. So I decided I will take some advice from the best fitness trainer friend I have in my life.

Ladies and Gentlemen. Presenting to you "CLEMENT HENRI"

(Hello Clem! Would you like to introduce yourself to my readers?)

Hi Prashant, well you have already introduced me so let me say something that the readers do not know. I am 24 year old boy from France, I live in Lille. I have been in Lille studying for the past 5 years and have had international experience in Granada, Spain for a year.
I did my graduation in sports coaching so that is why I am a personal trainer and a coach. Besides that I am doing Masters in Evaluation and Optimization of sport performance and at the same time I am also doing a course to graduate in sport rehab.
I have been a fitness trainer for a French men basketball team (regional level) and for a semi professional women volleyball team (National 3 level).
Sport is more than just an activity for me. It's a way of life. It gives rhythm to my day to day life.
Then...ummm...Prash you know that I love to travel. I so far have traveled across Canada, USA, Spain, Tunisia, England, Greece and Turkey. Besides that I like to speak English and Spanish with my strong French accent. (Wink).

(How do we know each other?)

We met each other during an international weekend event when you were studying in France and I am really glad that I know a guy like you.
It was a fun time then and I hope we stay in touch forever like we usually are.

(A very obvious question- You are so fit. What did you do to achieve such a ripped body?)

Hahaha....well... thanks a lot. I have to say that I workout a lot and have been playing sport since a young age. I used to do 20 hours of sport at my university for the first two years.
So I guess that is why I managed to be fit. lol
Now I practice everyday for pleasure, to feel fit and energetic. It's important for me to workout since I play basketball.

(What advice would you like to give to us who find it difficult to make time for workout?)

As I said, sport is a way of life for me. I know that everyone cannot have time to workout but I think everyone wants to be healthy and fit or at least think of getting healthy and fit. I never tell people what they should or should not do but advice them. The choice is their's. I just tell them that they have to think about what they want and how they want it.
Do you think that three table spoons of nutella is good for your health or for your body? you have the answer. That is why I recommend to at least eat healthy if you do not have time to workout.

(Is fasting necessary to achieve a lean body?)

I never advice to fast. I advice to eat healthy, fresh, organic and in proportion.
Everyone is different so diet may or may not work for everyone. There aren't any secrets of losing weight. You have to work hard to achieve anything in life, be it your own desired body shape. For me the most important thing isn't to have a lean body, it's to feel great in my body.

(Would you recommend diet supplements that are available in the market? Are they any good?)

I recommend it to some athletes , like protein because their workout is way too intense but for others- you are eating protein everyday in your meat, eggs, soya and milk anyway!

Protein supplements are good for people who are training a lot. There are different flavors and different compositions so I can't recommend one more than the other. It depends on what the person wants to achieve. Bulk up or lean etc.

(How many days in a week and for how long should a person workout?)

The most important thing is the objective. Why do you want to train?

  1. For pleasure?
  2. To compete in a marathon?
  3. To get bigger?
  4. To run faster?
The objective makes the program. Most of the time people like to do 1:30 hours of training per day.
How many days a week?
Well it depends on your physical capacity and recovery and how you work out. I would say 3 to 4 days a week.

(What tips can you give for proper body posture?)

Start with low weights. That's the secret. When you train, you have to respect your body, teach your body first. Always take help from a coach in the beginning then later you can do it all by yourself. Sports is not an easy job. Even the best of athletes sometimes find it difficult to keep in shape and healthy. It's a kind of science you need to study.

(Any advice for the people who want to bulk up?)

To bulk up!

Don't think that you will get guns in two weeks straight (even though the arms are the easiest muscle to make bigger because you do not use it that much compared to your legs).

You need 6 weeks (theory) to increase your muscle nerve innervation, only after those 6 weeks (if you are a beginner) you will start to increase the volume of your muscle.

There are a few ways to practice. Workout routine.

$MUSCLE$
5/6 sets
7/10 reps
1.30 minute rest only.

5 Exercises= 25 to 30 sets (wink) not so bad.

And one of the most important part of staying healthy and fit is to have proper SLEEP. You build/repair your muscle during your sleep. Workout destroys some essential fibers.

(Now on a little different note.... What do you think of me? lol )

What I think of you is the easiest question ever! You are the biggest surprise ever. I never thought that we would still be talking so much. I am really happy about that. You are true and you say what you think. Honesty is one of your best qualities. One day you will be a very successful person. You are my dear friend Prash.

Okay y'all, I sometimes fish for complements. Don't judge me. I am only human. hehe

My very first meet with the Indian Fashion bloggers.

Last Sunday I had the opportunity to attend the Indian fashion bloggers event organised by Whyoffashion here in Bangalore, India. I was quite surprised to see the number of successful fashion bloggers who turned up. I mean I really thought that the fashion blogging scene in India was not up to what I wished but to my surprise I was not well informed.  How about that ha? lol

I was also surprised to find out that there are people other than my friends actually reading my blogs and quite liking it. The energy there in that hotel was soooo positive. It was like we all spoke the same language and liked the same things, we all understood each other and appreciated things which are otherwise considered weird in the "so called" normal world.

The evening started with wine and snacks and socializing with each other. I have always loved meeting new inspirational people, making friends with them and here I was once again in the right place and moment. It was my first time in an event like that and I must say it did not disappoint.

The evening progressed with inspirational talks by the organizers and an open floor for the participants to throw questions and have their queries cleared, followed by lunch and then desert. I was lucky enough to be mingling with few adorable bloggers and website designers. We all exchanged information and promised to meet again. In the end I was interviewed and asked to give my views on men's fashion in India and what can be done to improve it. I am glad I was asked that question. (Wink)

What makes me Weird?

Answers-
  1. I show my mother how to twerk.
  2. I explain my daddy what grinding in a club means.
  3. I see my sisters reaction as I tell her I am choking on my own puke.
  4. I send my uncle a bikini picture of Rihanna.
  5. I think of telling my grand father that I do not need to get married to give him a great grand child.
  6. I sometimes wear the tightest of clothes possible and wonder why there isn't enough oxygen reaching my brain?
  7. Some call me a homo but I still post faggy pictures on Facebook.
  8. My aunt thinks I am a big ass drunk loser and I ask her. "Do you want some aunty?"
  9. I go for job interviews with half shaved head and with a high ponytail and expect that I will get the job. ( Well.... I got the job so never mind).
  10. I wear shorts which are size of a girl's panty and wonder why people are staring and laughing at me on the street. (Side bar- In my head I think... wtf.... ya'll loser, I am perfectly normal).

Well just like Paris Hilton, I also think that life is too short to blend in. Gosh she and I are so similar that I sometimes wish we were twins. I mean look at the similarities- Our IQ level, our knowledge about politics and anything interactive for that matter, our knowledge of current affairs and above all.....we both believe in staying virgins till we get married. Sigghhhhh... wonder what it feels like to be that rich and famous without doing any hard work. Pfffffff......

I think I should just dedicate the One Direction song " You don't know you're beautiful" for myself coz you know I am soooo special!

Guys.... but on a serious note.... life in actual sense is too short to blend in so do not hesitate to be yourself. Do not pay attention to the haters coz remember there are people who truly love you the way you are and for who you are. If fashion is what you like to express yourself with then go right ahead.

Confidence is key, it's not about the money that will define your style, it's about having your own personal style and sticking by it. Personal style comes before fashion- Nancie Mwai.

This girl needs to be in my blog!

So for a change lets not talk about fashion or the other random shit that I generally talk about but watch Christina Bianco a diva impressionist who did 19 diva impressions in 6 minutes. It is crazy. The video has gone viral on YouTube. I think she is brilliant and my personal favorite impressions are of Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion. So sit back and enjoy. I'm sure you will watch this twice.

My first interview with an International fashion blogger.

Let me introduce to you Marion Antoine (owner of Marion Rocks). A French fashion blogger from Paris who happens to be in India for a while. Traveling and exploring the country of rich heritage.  I was lucky enough to get my hands on her before anyone else could (sounds dirty?? ...oopppss.... I'm sorry... I meant all in a very clean way).

Anyway..... I am glad that we met and shared an afternoon together sharing a pizza and talking about our lives.  I did not want to miss a chance like this so I asked if I could interview her and kind Marion said  SURE!!  (Stroke of luck for me ha!)

Find Marion on Twitter and Instagram.

INTERVIEW:

(Hi Marion! How are you doing? Could you please tell our readers how did we find each other?)

Hi Prash! I am very well thank you. We found each other on twitter. A friend of a friend told me about you and your blog and then we connected on twitter.

(How long have you been blogging?)

5 years.

(Did you ever imagine that one day your blog will be so famous and will be sponsored and that thousands of people will be reading it?)

Oh gosh... never! I started blogging just as a time pass. I used to blog about music and movies initially but then at a point of time I got bored and wanted some change so I thought of posting my pictures with different outfits and see how people react to it and I was blown away by the response. Within a week I had more than 5000 views. I was still a teenager then and it was a great deal for me.
IN 2009, the Editor in Chief of Vogue online found me on Facebook and asked me to work for him. I was 18 then, I really thought that someone is trying to joke around with me but he actually called me for a meeting and from July that year I started working for him in Paris. I also worked for Glamour and GQ magazine Paris. It was a crazy year for me.

(How did it feel to be in Vogue Paris?)

Phewwww... waaooo.... you know when I was young I used to read all the fashion magazines and read about all the famous bloggers and suddenly I saw myself in the same world as they were. I did not know what to think. I was blown away and wanted to enjoy every moment of it. After that I moved to Sweden for a while, I was missing Paris and I desperately wanted to go back so I found a communication School for public relations and communication in which I enrolled and joined immediately. I graduated in 3 years and after that my life was crazy.
Blogging was just getting famous then which was a good thing because there were not too many fashion bloggers in France, so every body wanted to meet me and I was invited to most of the high end fashion events. I had a chance to meet Jean- Charles de Castelbajac , (website). He invited me to his office for a meeting.

(What brings you to India?)

I wanted something completely different. I wanted adventure. New music, new people, food, fashion etc. I happened to get a job offer in India so I thought WHY NOT! lol.

(What do you have to say about Indian Fashion).

Hmmm... well... Bangalore is very modern. I have not traveled everywhere yet but my reaction when I first arrived here was- waaooo.... Indian girls are beautiful with the long hair, accessories, bangles, saari, the fabrics etc. It is so fascinating for me.

(Best city in India?)

So far I have only been to Chennai, Pondicherry and Bangalore. I loved all the three.... so I will have to say that I am yet to explore.

(Do you like Indian food?)

Yes but when it is not too spicy. Lol

(I am guessing that you would want to build your full time career in fashion of course?)

Yes! I would love to be a professional full time fashion blogger one day. I would love to write about fashion and discover the world or just be a fashion reporter.

(Your favorite fashion designer?)

Isabel Marant and Balenciaga.

(Favorite fashion Magazine?)

I like Glamour but only the French version and I love Vogue USA.

(Favorite fashion blogger?)

Blond Salad. I love her. She is one amazing blogger.

(Met any other Indian Fashion blogger yet?)

Nope! You are the first one I am meeting.

(I am sorry but I have to ask you thins- Do you like my blog and my clothes for real because I think it's full of crap? lol)

Yes I do. You see fashion blogs are not only about clothes. Its more than that and I love the way you write. One of your posts called "The Walk of Shame" made me laugh sooo much and the pictures are amazing.

(Define Fashion?)

"Any article of clothing you feel confident in". It's all about how you wear the trend. Wear what you want, be creative and do not give a shit! lol

(Thank you very much Marion for your time. It was wonderful talking to you. I am looking forward to see you again someday).

My pleasure! Yes we have to meet again. I am going to tweet about this rendezvous right away and I will interview you too to feature in my blog.
