My Guilty Pleasure!

I have no idea why I started thinking about guilty pleasure for the past one week. I woke up one fine morning thinking about it. I guess it's got something to do with the paint I was inhaling while gently tapping my feet on my bed.

Siggghhhh...... my life and the dry spell!

The dictionary says that guilty pleasures are things that one should not do or like but we do it anyways. We sure as hell do it but we keep it hush hush...... and sometimes we don't.

Well for me there has been quite some guilty pleasures along the way. I think growing up I've had more guilty pleasures than actual genuine pleasure giving thoughts. Doing things that you are not suppose to always gives more pleasure rite?

Hell.... I've attended parties themed Guilty Pleasure (I know rite.. I am so cool). All I'm sayin is- The weed delivery boy might have gotten richer over night, two best friends might have made out, a professor might have gotten a little frisky with a student, a teenage girl might have gotten pregnant, the pizza delivery boy might have been stripped down, I might have accepted S&M song  by Rihanna as an anthem and bent over backwards, someone might have done body shots starting real down low.

My point is........ oh wait, I wasn't really goin anywhere with this. So f*** it.

My mommy always told me not to take pleasure in wrong things and I guess that's the reason why I grew up to be totally misguided individual who is guided by demon voices. I think I will have to write an apology letter to mommy and then go for some kind of convention.

Coming to a serious note, I do have a real guilty pleasure problem and that is "EATING" anything that is absolutely unhealthy. Like mostly the fried and sweet stuff. I have tried overcoming this many times but failed. On doing a little research on the internet and speaking with my buddies, I found out how weird can people actually get.

So here is the best of the most retarded GUILTY PLEASURE-

  1. Watching reality shows staring stupid rich people.
  2. Watching Youtube videos of guys with weird accents.
  3. Tweeting about someone you absolutely hate. (You will only get more worked up because the person will never know about it).
  4. Playing with your own beard and pulling it. (Ouch)
  5. Watching Jerry Springer show.
  6. Watching Indian TV shows by Ekta Kapoor and thinking what's gonna happen next.
  7. Walking on the road listening to music and choreographing in your head.
  8. Listening to Mariah Carey's songs and pretending it's you singing with such high notes.
  9. Watching videos of soldiers coming home and sobbing.
  10. Singing Beyonce songs in the bedroom and flipping hair like her.
  11. Watching a romantic comedy and making it your own story.

Things I learnt from Britney's "Work Bitch" music video.

Britney was a bad news till few years back but mamma came back with a bang with her new single "Work Bitch". Her signature word I'm guessing. By the way... apparently for the U.K Britney was too hot to handle and so they decided to ban it and they could only show it after 10 pm on the television. I just don't get it but never mind.

This video is fantastic. Miss Spears did not hesitate to show off her new sexy body. Not only is she looking like a sex bomb but she is also looking like the way she used to back in the days. It may be the special effects but what the heck, she looks nice on the screen!

Unlike other songs "Work Bitch" is not just a party song. It's an anthem. At least for me it is. It's inspirational. The whole song revolves around inspiring people to work hard and making them realize that money does not grow on trees and that you gotta work your ass off to get that. I got lost in the swirl of the words when I heard it for the first time.

She talks about- nothing in this world comes easy. If you want something then you gotta work and work. The song starts with Britney telling us that if you want a hot body the you have to work for that, if you want a Bugatti , want a Maserati then you better work.

True! Our desire of looking fabulous in the mirror would not come true just by thinking about it. We need to put our lazy asses in motion to achieve that. We gotta earn our body.

Britney goes on to wanting Lamborghini, sippin martinis and looking hot in a bikini, living in a big mansion, partying in France needs work bitch!

My personal favorite verses of the song are-

Bring it on, ring the alarm
Don't stop now, Just be the champion
Work hard like it's your profession

Here comes the smasher
here comes the master
here comes the beat, beat
beat beat to get ya.

Full lyrics here.

You know how at times after working so hard you get tires and you wanna give up because you lose hope? We must not do that. Must keep on going. Like your in a zombie land and you gotta keep on sunning or else you will be killed.

By smasher I am assuming that Britney means all the obstacles in the form of haters who come along to drag our soul down. Brit tells us not to lose focus and look ahead instead of worrying about the world.

She tells us not to quit. She is mentoring us and preparing us to fight the combat.  Gosh I'm totally going to put the lyrics on my bedroom wall so that I could sing it as a prayer song in the morning.

Now here is the catch. I don't know if you guys noticed it or not but Britney is one of those pop stars who teaches you about Product Placement. These products are focused quite heavily in the music video which might give you an illusion of watching an extremely long and expensive commercial.

The internet explains PRODUCT PLACEMENT as-  A form of advertisement (usually not involves ads) in which a branded product and services are noticeable within a drama production with large audiences. Product placements are presented in a way that will generate positive feelings towards the advertised brand and are implemented, mentioned or discussed through the program. This enables the audience to develop a strong connection with the brand and provides justification for their purchase decision.

So in short- Product Placement is like "Embedded Marketing" which is mostly done in movies, songs, tv shows etc.

Now lets all judge Britney and see her skills. We all have seen her public interaction skills in the X-Factor which is not so impressive but is she any good at Product Placement?

Oh hell yeah!

A worth applauding Product Placement is done in a way which does not put the product right on your face. A story line revolving just around the product, making it look like a star ain't a good embedded marketing.

I mean aren't you tired of ads? I know I am. I just don't like commercials. It annoys me. The common PP practicing are done via TV, radio, newspaper, flyers, internet, magazine, billboards etc.

In Britney's "Work Bitch" music video we see that the toxic singer has very subtly done the PP which makes it very noticeable at the same time not on your face and definitely not the star of the video.

Featuring the deadly Lamborghini and her own perfume Fantasy Twist was quite a marketing strategy. Seeing all this I could not resist but go back to see all her famous videos and endorsements.  So I went on Youtubing.

I wonder if ya'll ever noticed what I noticed!
  • The first time Britney ever did a PP was in her music video with Madonna "Me against the music" in 2003 where she arrived at a party in a Mazda to meet Madonna. The focus in the beginning was only on the car as it arrived.
  • After that it turned out to be a bad phase for Brit coz of her personal life and stuff..... you know- shaving her head and all that? Yeah- so when she bounced back to being normal, she released "Womanizer" in 2008  which focused on Nokia phone
  • "Circus" again in 2008 is my favorite not only because of the song but the video as well. This music video highlighted Britney's perfume and Bvlgari Jewels
  • In 2011, Britney released three singles- " I wanna go", "Hold it against me", and "Criminal". All three videos had different product highlights. "I wanna go" had it's focus on Volkswagen, "Hold it against me" showed Sony Camera and Brit's Radiance perfume and a Make- up Forever concealer. Hey and there was a dating sight too called PlentyofFish. Hmmm.. weird!  "Criminal" had Swarovski watch in it and her perfume again.
  •  and last but not the least in 2013 came "Work Bitch" which we do not need to talk about any further.
Here are all the videos for you to watch. Enjoy :)

I wonder what Britney's next video is gonna contain. Its kinda exciting. I am sure Brit Brit will do justice to whatever she next is going to endorse.

Oh and Britney is releasing her new album on the 3rd of December this year. Yes you heard it right "3rd December" which happens to be my birthday too.... at last Brit n I finally can connect on some level. I'm sure she thought this trough and decided to gift me this album for my birthday.

Straight from Serbia- Meet an upcoming designer Jovan Stevanovic.

One of the good things about being a blogger is that- you get to meet so many different kinds of people. Your social life takes a high flight and along the way very unknowingly you make new friends. Growing up I always had a dream of becoming a designer and put my creativity on clothes. For some reason my dream took a walk out of the darn window and never came back. I am guessing it got drunk and passed out somewhere.

Few weeks ago I interviewed a Serbian upcoming designer Jovan Stevanovic who I feel very happy to feature on my blog. He is sassy, smart and hilarious. He's a got a fresh mind and if any of you wanna know how to make it in the fashion world then you should probably read this interview.

Girls and Boys...... here is the GUILTY for being charming "JOVAN"

(Hi Jovan. Would you like to tell us something about yourself?)

Something about myself? Easy- Cocky little sh#t! Kidding... lol. How should I start. First of all, I never knew I'd be a designer. Back in the days I used to dance and I was a dance choreographer. One thing lead to another- I hurt my leg and BAM@&%!! Here it was, my new profession.

(How long have you been designing?)

I have been designing for 5 years now. At first it was hard cause I knew nothing and had no one to teach me, but as time went by, I started getting better at it. I grew both as a person and as a designer. I guess every designer's story is the same..... WE DID NOT LIKE THE TRASH IN LOCAL BOUTIQUES SO WE CREATED OUR WON!

(You have quite a models look. Would you consider taking up modeling as a career?)

Trust me I don't. I would love to be a model, but I'm not. Make up and photoshop are 50% of me...hahaha. I do it only for fun and maybe cause I'm an egoistic douchebag.

(Funny answer...lol.. I would like to disagree though. So tell us -Who are your favorite fashion designers and why?)

My personal favorites are Pam Hogg, Thierry Mugler, Givenchy etc. I think their work speaks enough.

(Great choice Jovan. They all indeed are amazing designers. So tell us- Since you are an up coming designer yourself- How difficult is it to get into the world of fashion as a designer?)

My theory is simple. If you believe in the clothes that you are making, I think it's easy but if you are doing it just to become famous .... then you'll never make it!

(Couldn't agree more. What kind of clothes do you design?)

I started designing only male wardrobe. One collection after another then I started with women as well. Imagine mixing sex toys, leather, metal, a lot of black and a lot of red. That's how I describe my designs.

(Do you enjoy dressing up men or women more?)

I don't like how this question sounds. I enjoy dressing a PERSON WITH A STRONG CHARACTER. I would dress up a little bunny if it had a strong personality. (Wink)

(Your personal style signifier?)

I think it would be my tattoos.

Smile away- Interview with smiley model Adam Gibbs.

Have you ever looked in the mirror, smiled and said .... "ahh million dollar smile" BLING BLING! Well I do that too... just that in stead of a million dollar smile I see the need of spending a million dollar to get my yellow crooked teeth fixed, then comes the question of getting a lip job done....sighhhhhh.... One day when I have enough money I will turn myself into plastic and be timeless.... now that's some life ha? Don't I sound all SOUND!

Last month I got an opportunity to interview "Adam Gibbs" who is a SMILE MODEL, TELEVISION PRESENTER and AN ACTOR. You have to see him to believe me.... just the perfect smile, white teeth... anyone would die to have his smile. It was interesting to know about him and his work. Adam also has his own channel where he gives you advice. Ya'll should check him out.

Watch his Video below and subscribe.

(Hi Adam, Thanks for doing this interview with me. Would you like to tell us something about yourself?)

Hi, I am a 22 year old model and presenter. I am from the Fleet, Hampshire now living in London. I will be flying to LA next year to present a new TV series called the Ministry of Manners which I am incredibly excited for. I also have my own Youtube channel.

(How long have you been modeling? What are the brands you have worked with till now?)

I have been modeling for 2-3 years. A large amount of the modeling I have done has been generic lifestyle modeling which requires a very clean cut look and cheesy grin. These shots are very versatile and can go off to all sorts of different ads etc. One of the main companies I model with is called Dizzyfinch Studios, and they mainly focus on shots with white background and healthy smile.
I recently worked in the New Burberry Fragrance campaign in their TV advert which was great fun.

(How do you maintain your slim body? What is your workout plan?)

I maintain a healthy diet and try to avoid too many sugary snacks. I make sure I lead an active lifestyle, going to the gym three times a week and trying to walk everywhere instead of hopping on a bus. I have been following a workout plan from Men's Health which is a 3 month workout plan specifically targeting abs.

(Fashion to you is?)

Fashion to me is a way of expressing yourself. People make an initial judgement of someone within the first 7 seconds of coming into contact with them. We use the way we dress ourselves as a way of choosing what this initial impression may be.

( Your personal style signifier?)

I like to maintain a very simple classic style as I have to be very versatile for my work and can't box myself into one area. That said, most people would describe the way I dress as smart and preppy. I like to wear beige chinos with a completely plain t-shirt or a smart crisp white shirt and jumper. I also enjoy wearing smart suits and blazers. My motto is- It is always better to be overdressed than under-dressed if you're the only man in the room wearing a smart suit, as long as you look great in it, everyone will respect you for it. It's all about the confidence you exhibit, and you will have that confidence if you are wearing clothes you truly feel comfortable in.

(Thank You very much Adam for interviewing with me. Wishing you all the best for your future.)

SO while you guys go follow Adam on
Twitter- @thisisadamgibbs  and check out his website-  www.aboutgibbs.com , I will go to my dentist who I have not seen in years and get the tartar removed from my teeth.

A letter to Miley Cyrus. What did I learn from you.

Dear Miley,

May the odds be ever in your favor. The world is against you but let me tell you (even though you don't care) that I am with you.  It's been more than two months  and people are still talking about your VMA performance with Robin Thicke. Your like the one person everyone wanted to be for Halloween, your hair, looks, foam finger and the ridiculous VMA costume has become legendary and you chose to be Lim Kim on Halloween. You defeated Madonna and Britney's most talked about VMA performance. If at all, the world should be thanking you to keep them bloody entertained for two whole f*****g months. In show biz staying in the news for two months is like 5 years in human life time. If I had a body worth flaunting then I wouldn't want to wear clothes either.. (well not as much as you though........ you know coz I'm an Indian and we're shy and stuff).

They said- Miley can't sing, she can't act, they mocked, criticized, abused you, called you names....... but throughout you held it tight girlfriend and you TWERKED your way out.
Boy O Boy ..... you got some potential. I must admit, now your a f*****g twerking queen. It's like it came out of your tushy. You made it your own. Not even our black beauties Nicki Minaj and Ciara could do that. You gave all the youtubers a reason to make money. Not only the youtubers but the instagramers, viners, keekers, bloggers, tweeters, Facebook whores and the 1000 other social media websites to mint money out of you.

You motivated all the fatties out there to work and twerk out. Keep the damn teeth clean and lashes long. your the talk of almost every household, desire of every teenager, fantasy of every daddy and "dream to be like" of every homo. You stood up for yourself in SNL show, confronted the world. You made fun of yourself on the show about your performance. It showed the real you that there is no turning back for you and no matter what- you wont take nothing from nobody. Atta gurl!!

Your sense of humor is outstanding and I conclude this not only by your interviews on Allan Carr and Ellen but also coz of the reason you gave for why you like sticking your tongue out all the time on SNL. If anyone hasn't watched it yet then click here and here.

"It's how I smell. Like a snake".

Whatever has been goin on between you and Sinead O'Connor is just a phase which will soon get over. I guess the Irish singer is just worried for you so we must give her a break and enough of those open letters already coz that's not gonna do any good. She must consider your tweet and meet you in person instead of battling it online and whatever may be the reason for your break up with Liam Hermsworth, be it your twerking and grinding performance with Mr.Thicke at the VMA's or the chart busting video of "Wrecking Ball".... it's no one f*****g business!

From Hannah Montana to a wild child has been quite a journey for you. You may not realize it coz your just 20 but might have taught few business students a lesson or two.

These are the things that I have learnt from your latest escapades in the media.
  1. Organizational change- Changing yourself with time and environment is extremely important in the business world. You change and so does the market, human requirement, expectations. Accepting the change and working towards it can bring you great success.
  2. Creating the right brand- Create a brand that will do wonders for you. Something that no one has ever seen. You always dream of doing something big and outrageous but you do not want to take any risk. You want to be safe but how will you know what you are capable of if you do not take a risk. Everything created today was once only imagined. So someone's gotta do it.
  3. Accept failure- If you cannot accept failure then you will never be successful. (Gosh m talkin like I'm a big shot...pfff... anyway). So there was a point of time when Miley was not in the news at all. No albums, no singles, no movies. Of course, being in the business is not always a "party in the USA", there are ups and downs but through it all Miley now has world's no 1 album. Gurlfriend got RICH as soon as she released "We can't stop".
  4. Use the wrecking ball to wreck the negativity- Being self employed is a hard job. There are crazy down and lows. Eliminate anything or anyone that comes in between you and your career. Miley Cyrus claims that she was in a relationship that needed to be wrecked that's why she teared up in the official video.
  5. Create a solid content- Know your target inside out. Do your market research and give them what they want. If showing skin can make your product sell then do so. Like they say- SEX SELLS!! So sell what needs to be sold in business world.
  6. Change marketing strategies- She went from being a Disney Queen to  being a bad girl. As she started growing up she realized that she has to capture the adult audience too and BAM! Now she is making headlines, signing record deals and appearing on the cover of magazines. Its a tough world where you are not the only creative thinker in the market. So what can you bring to the table to get noticed?
  7. Longevity- Don't stop the work. Keep the creativeness flowing, strive for innovation. Don't give up until you get what you want. Miley faced failure, came back, released "We can't stop" followed by VMA performance, social media exploded after she released the never seen before "Wrecking ball" video.....going on to SNL where she mocked herself to releasing another song "23" . I wonder when did she have the time to breath coz in between all these she was appearing on various talk shows and performing and stuff. So you see- her presence is so strong as a brand right now that people even in Countries we've never heard of are talking about her.

Interview with Tancrède Melet who starred in Paul Smith's gravity defying underwear commercial.

I wonder if you guys saw the Paul Smith's brand new gravity defying underwear ad campaign AW13? I blogged about it too. If missed out then here is the"blog" once again. Trust me it's scary. I mean I almost pooped in my pants. Well also coz I am a pussy.
There are two French athletes who are starring in it- "Antoine Moineville and Tancrede Melet" and guess what?............................... I have Tancrede in my blog now. WEEEEEEEEEEEE.......... The guy in the Maroon sweater is him. It was an incredible moment for me to be talking to a person whose passion is something most of us would dread doing.

(Hello Tancrede. Tell us something about yourself? Are you and Antoine buddies?)

I used to be an electronic and software engineer, but I resigned 4 years ago, bought a van and went wondering on the roads, finding the best spots for climbing and highlining- the two sports you see in the movie, highlining is the proper name of the tight rope walking. I met Antoine a few years ago along with some other friends and we pushed highlining to high altitudes where you first need to be an alpinist to reach the summit, to then set up your highline.

(How did you get into such a risky form of sport? Don't you ever feel scared?)

I started climbing cliffs long time back, then discovered the slackline stuff: tightening a webbing between two trees and try crossing it by balancing your body. Then I realized I could set up the slackline high up in the air and I did and I started highlining. At the beginning it was not common, we were only a few practicing discovering new spots so it was an excitement and fun and of course I felt scared in the beginning but after a point of time you just get used to it. Its a question of habit and practice. The more you practice, the less scared you will get.

(Have you ever met any accident while practicing such stunts?)

Yes, accidents are part of the game. Sometimes you want to play too much and you get a close call or even an accident. Few months ago I broke my foot base jumping. We were 3 people flying under a para glider and 2 of us jumped. I was filming a friend and was too focused on the camera, so when it was time to open the parachute I already reached too close to the ground. I hit the ground really hard with half of the parachute open above my head.

(Wow.. hats off to your bravery and loyalty to your work. I guess there aren't a lot of people who would go back to doing that after such an incident. I guess then you well deserve the Paul Smith ad campaign. So tell us how did you bag yourself a Paul Smith's commercial?)

In November 2011 we released a movie on internet with Seb Montaz, the same maker of the Paul Smith commercial. The movie went viral on the net and I think that's how Paul spotted us and got an idea of working with us.  You can watch the trailer" here "and you can also download the 40 minutes full movie from the website.

(How long did it take to complete this shoot?)

It took us 2 days, we literally pitched our tents on top of the mountain in the bad weather of June. It was freezing. Snow and wind was terrible but we were determined enough to finish the shoot in two days.

(Phewww.. that sounds so intense. I can only imagine. Well but then your hard work pays off and it really shows... inside out and I mean that literally ... your body is ripped. What do you do when you are not climbing?

I have always been into sports since I was a child. I was a gymnast, practiced martial arts and loved break dance..... now I continuously practice mountain sports like: skiing, ice climbing, paragliding, base jumping, mountaineering etc.

(Waoo.. I don't know how to respond to that. It's like your never on the ground and your job does not require coming down on earth ....lol but in all seriousness- Do you like fashion?)

I do like fashion but I don't really follow it. Life does not have time for everything unfortunately.

(Okat Tancrede one last question. I'm sure my readers must be wondering if the Paul Smith underwear is worth trying or not so tell us-How comfortable is the new PS underwear? Did you have fun wearing it in the freezing cold while shooting? WINK)

(Chuckle) Well to tell you the truth, most of the time I do not like wearing underwear but the PS under wears are very comfy. After the shooting I kept few and I actually wear them quite often.

Man Thong- Feel the Grind.

Yes! I said it. My new obsession is man thong. Shocked in the beginning as to how is this thing resting on a rack in the store where I work and I have not even noticed. I mean seriously, this is the beginning of a new era for us Indians where we will see men walk into stores and buy thongs for themselves without any awkwardness. There are G strings, 2 strings, mankini, jock straps and sling swimsuits that men these days are trying too.

Now I've seen lot of girls wear thongs and G-strings etc and flaunt their lady lumps but very few guys. I always wondered what would it be like. So I decided that I will try it on and also do a little survey with the ladies asking what they think of men wearing thongs. The results were rather astonishing, but let me first tell ya'll what I felt when I wore the thong.

In the beginning I constantly felt something grindin up my ass, I had to kinda finger my own self to set things right but after a while it just did not matter and I got used to it. It felt nice and comfortable. I could imagine wearing my tightest pants and not have those weird visible underwear lines. It is exciting because you feel naked when you are actually not.

Experimenting with garments is the new "IN" thing then why should men stay behind? The idea is- "If you can pull it off then it's yours".

Now lets talk about my little survey and the conclusions.

We all know that women like to keep their undergarments changing because its a bedroom requirement. It's a massive turn on for men. They like to seductive change in their ladies. Same goes for men. Man thongs bring the seductive element out and keeps the mystery alive. Its intriguing how many modern men are opting for thongs because they are high on both style and comfort.

Earlier it was only the male strippers and gay boys who loved wearing thongs because it made them look more attractive but the scenario has changed now. Wearing a thong is as much of a bedroom requirement for men as much it is for the women. Heck I have seen men wearing thongs on the beach so its more than just a bedroom requirement.

One thing is for sure. i.e. you can pull a thong off only when you are in good shape otherwise you would not want to look in the mirror. Trust me. That's why I stopped wearing it. It was not a pretty sight.

The results of the survey- Women
  1. 60% of the women feel that men wearing thongs in bedroom are incredibly sexy whereas they dint seem thrilled with the idea of men walking around wearing thongs on the beach. It's good to hide that area completely and keep the rest surprise.
  2. 20% women said that it's a comfortable wear and it gives boys asses a good shape.
  3. 10% said they would divorce their husbands or breakup with the boyfriends if they ever wear thongs. It is for the gays and stripper. (Ouch ..... harsh... racist bitches).
  4. and 10% said that they dont give a f*** coz at the end of the day its gonna come flying right off anyway.
The results - Men
  1. 40% men think its a cool thing to wear. Comfortable and it makes them feel sexy and self confident. They said thongs keep them motivated to stay in shape. They also said that it keeps their mayo shooting hot dog gun in place, intact and gives a good hold which prevents from getting wedgies.(hmmmm.. that's weird...lol)
  2. 30% men said its completely gay and they would never wear it. (Racist bastards).
  3. 20% men said that they have never tried but they don't mind trying it. Just for fun.
  4. 10% men asked me what thongs are!  (Education please)
